SECTOR SR (P)

The sector is located on the eastern slope of the tell, between Sector SL and Sector SD. It was first called Sector SR, but was renamed Sector P in 2008 for a research project of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań Collapse, regress or progress. Settlement and cultural landscape of the Syrian Jezirah at the end of the Early Bronze Age. The project aimed at investigating a post-Akkadian period settlement, the well preserved remains of which had been first encountered during excavations in 2001. The project head is prof. Rafał Koliński, who also supervised the excavations in Sector SR in previous years.
